在殡仪馆工作的陈春林（徐彬饰）好高骛远，偶然间发现了一只能够穿越时空的打火机。他借此投机取巧，穿越回过去寻觅历史名人，接着把从过去带回的历史文物拿去倒卖获利。但他这种冒险之举却意外改写了历史，自己也被卷入众多名人的命运之中。最终，他不得不正视自己的失败，重新探寻人生的意义。
